Digital transcripts, student confirmations and diplomas that have been ordered in Studentweb or retrieved via the Diploma Registry are digitally signed. A valid digital signature gives recipients an assurance that the document was created by a known sender, and that it has not been altered afterwards. If anyone attempts to change the contents of a digitally signed PDF, the digital signature will be immediately invalidated. The recipient must therefore verify the digital signature to be sure that the content is correct.

• Note that it is only possible to verify the PDF in its original electronic form. If the document is printed, it is no longer possible to verify the signature.

• In PDFs, the digital signature will appear on the first page and apply to the entire document.
